Pinot noir 2010

Published on November 12. 2011

tasting notes

Again a Pinot of great richness and depth of flavour. I shows red and dark berrie favours, lovely French oak, a fine texture and excellent balance. Long, lush finish. It will gain complexity as it ages.

vintage

An above warm and wet August saw a very promising growing season start on the dot 1st of September and flowering and fruit set had perfect conditions. But summer came early with a very hot and dry November, December and January. Eventually, in February we received some good rainfall. Vintage began early, on 2nd of March and Pinot was all picked by mid-March. Flavour and tannin ripeness was very good and sugar levels to our delight slightly lower than in the past years. Overall 2010 was a very good year with few problems.
